ASBESTOS SURVEYS

Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations, places onerous duties on those responsible for the management of non-domestic buildings within the United Kingdom which means if you are responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of the buildings you may be deemed to be the 'Duty Holder'.

An Asbestos Refurbishment Survey is the minimum survey required which accesses all areas that will be worked upon during the refurbishment of your premises. This type of survey targets the area of refurbishment area and involves destructive and intrusive techniques to gain access to areas where the refurbishment of the premises are required to ensure that no one is put at risk from potential exposure to asbestos.

What is an Asbestos 'Demolition' Survey?

An Asbestos Demolition Survey is the minimum survey required to assess all areas of the building before demolition takes place. The survey requires destructive and fully intrusive techniques to gain access to all areas including those that may be difficult to reach. System must be put in place to ensure all areas are accessed, to ensure that all the asbestos can be safely removed prior to demolition.
